The Story of Rafinade: A Legacy of Craft and Innovation

Rafinade’s journey begins over a century ago in Nagykanizsa, Hungary, where my great-grandfather, Ignaz Weisz, ran a soda water factory. At a time when carbonated drinks were becoming a staple in daily life, he perfected the craft of pure, refreshing soda water, delivering quality and consistency to his community. His factory stood as a testament to precision, tradition, and a dedication to real refreshment—values that have traveled through generations. Our Family still possesses some of the original 120 years old bottles.

Though the factory eventually closed, its legacy remained a part of my family’s story, shaping my own passion for flavor, fermentation, and craft beverages. My brothers, Rafael (Rafi) and Daniel, both pursued culinary excellence, bringing bold flavors and creativity to their work as chefs. Inspired by my family’s connection to quality and taste, I set out to reinvent soda for the modern world—this time, with a fresh twist.

With my background in biotechnology, I developed Rafi, a Spanish  Brew that merges traditional craftsmanship with natural fermentation. Using fruits from Spain and a gentle partial fermentation process, Rafi enhances the natural flavors of its ingredients while keeping sugar levels low. It’s crafted not just as a refreshment, but as a drink to be savored—shared among friends, much like fine wine.

Rafi is more than a soda—it’s a story in every bottle.
